Saturday, May 23
8:35 p.m. Firefighters responded to a call about a smell of smoke coming from 150 East Arapahoe.

Wednesday, May 20
10:16 p.m. Someone found a small wooden box in the State Park near the Big Spring. A deputy opened the box to find a ring toss game. The ring toss game is in the police lost and found.
Sunday, May 24
8:47 a.m. Deputies received a call about rocks falling in the canyon near mile marker 122 on Highway 20 South. The largest of the rocks was the size of a refrigerator.
Monday, May 25
9:15 a.m. A couple and their children were stranded near Kirby Creek. They were outside of their vehicle and OK, but the area was heavily flooded.
8:33 p.m. A person reported hearing two gunshots in the Kirby area. Deputies responded to the call.
9:29 p.m. Deputies received a call about a possible drunk driver. A dark Tahoe or Suburban was driving all around the road and almost hit some of the posts on the side of the road. The vehicle was not located.
Police calls
Tuesday, May 19
12:00 a.m. An officer on patrol near the State Park boat dock saw a man walking on the train tracks. The officer put a spot light on the man, and then waited for the man at the end of the tracks. The man eventually gave his identification to the officer and was removed from the train tracks. He was warned that if he were found trespassing again he would be ticketed.
9:42 a.m. Rachel Cardenas, 22, was arrested on a bench warrant out of Fremont County.
12:38 p.m. Someone called a local and claimed to be the treasury department. They told the local that he needed to to withdraw money from his bank account and send it to them. The local man put the caller on hold and called the police.
Wednesday, May 20
1:19 p.m. Someone reported wrongdoing with their Charter account. When they went to set up internet, Charter said someone was already using the internet at that address. Police investigated and contacted Charter. Charter eventually realized they had made a clerical error and had been looking at the wrong address.
2:41 p.m. A person in the front lobby of the Law Enforcement Center wanted to report harassment. She said it started a week ago. The male subject had been telling her she should break up with her boyfriend and that she is stupid for dating him. She alleged the person would not stop and persisted in contacting her supervisor at work. She also said he had threatened to kill her boyfriend. An officer made contact with the male subject who said he had not been harassing the female. He also said he had made no death threats.
9:43 p.m. A person called in a possible drunk driver. Officers were unable to locate the driver.
Thursday, May 21
5:17 p.m. A child called the police to say other children had assaulted him at the movie theater. When an officer arrived they found the child had not been assaulted, but there had been an argument and the boys were separated.
8:22 p.m. Police received a call about an ongoing property dispute.
Friday, May 22
8:12 p.m. Police reported seeing suspicious people in the State Park.
Saturday, May 23
5:26 p.m. Police responded to a domestic dispute in the State Park. A guy, his girlfriend and her adult children were part of the disturbance. The man and one of the adult children were arguing, without any physical incident, and the children wanted their mother to leave the man and they alleged he had been abusing her in the past. The mother has never reported the man for abuse. The group separated and promised to keep calm for the rest of the day.
9:53 p.m. Police received a report of a violation of a stalking order. A person reported seeing another person that they have a stalking order against near their home.
Sunday, May 24
10:30 a.m. Large rocks were reported on the tracks in the canyon.
5:11 p.m. A vehicle backed into another vehicle causing damage.
10:16 p.m. People were watching television and the volume was loud. A neighbor reported the noise. An officer met with the people and asked the people to turn the volume down. The people obliged.
Monday, May 25
12:30 p.m. Police responded to a possible traffic hazard. A sinkhole formed in the State Park and needed to be roped off.
10:02 p.m. A hit and run occurred. Someone backed their vehicle into another vehicle and drove off.

Kent Alan Jarman had his bond set at $5,000 following his probation revocation.
Birth
Jaycee Rose Helms was born Thursday, May 21, 2015, at Hot Springs County Memorial Hospital to Grace and Todd Helms.
She weighed 8 pounds, 8 ounces, and was 21.5 inches long.
Grandparents are Julie and Kevin Lockard of Menard, Iowa and Jake and Barb Helms of Stanton, Mich.
