Hot Springs County High School 2015 graduate, Hannah Channel, will be one of two representatives from Wyoming attending the National Youth Science Camp in West Virginia this summer.
The camp honors, awards and encourages excellence in science, something Channel intends to pursue as she plans to go into health and medicine in college starting in the fall.
Held at Camp Pocahontas in Bartow, West Virginia, Channel will experience lectures from a spectrum of scientific disciplines, have hands-on work with various science related activities and outdoor classroom work.
In addition to the camp in West Virginia, the group travels to Washington D.C. for a luncheon with a group of U.S. Senators.
Two students from each state are chosen for the camp each year which is funded through donations to the camp, allowing each student to attend free of charge.
