Patricia Spatz

February 15, 1928 - April 20, 2015

Former Thermopolis resident, Patricia Ann (Dodge) Spatz, 87, of Lexington, Ky. passed away Monday, April 20, 2015, while visiting her daughter near Paducah, Ky.

Born in Casper, Wyo., February 15, 1928, she was one of eight children of Elijah and Rose (Borchers) Dodge. The family moved to Thermopolis where Pat graduated from Thermopolis High School. She was employed at Empire State Oil Company until she married Raymond Spatz in 1948. In 1973 they were transferred to Ashland, Ky. and later moved to Lexington.

A member of Maxwell Street Presbyterian Church, she wrote a monthly newsletter of church notes and cheer for shut-ins as a Faith Coordinator. She was an active member of Community Federated Church in Thermopolis prior to moving to Kentucky.

She is survived by her children, Curtis R. Spatz of Florence, Ky. and Polly Ann Courter of Calvert City, Ky .; eight grandchildren, Jason Valentine of Thermopolis, Darin and Emily Valentine of Paducah, Ky., Joe Odle of Florence, Ky., and Julie, Sarah, Polly, Desiree and Cody Spatz of Florence; two great-grandchildren, Aidan and Hunter Valentine of Thermopolis; siblings, John (Ellen) Dodge and Jerry (Bob) Brown of Thermopolis, Betty Jean (Norton) Gwynn of Buena Vista, Colo .; and several nieces and nephews..

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband in 1990; brothers, William and Sonny;  sisters, Carmelita Snyder and Yvonne Anderson.

Funeral arrangements in Paducah were handled by Hughes Funeral Home.

Funeral services were held April 28 at the Community Federated Church with Reverend Chuck Cooper officiating. Burial followed at Monument Hill Cemetery.
