    Last weekend the Hot Springs County High School Track and Field finished their season as 17 students - 10 girls and seven boys - competed at the State Championships in Casper. Both teams continued to set personal records, and Olivia Weyer's eighth place height of 9'0" in the pole vault was a new school record.     The Hot Springs County Recreation District’s Adult Co-Ed Softball League saw its first games on May 15, with The Team We Like The Most (TTWLTM) beating Robin Batsman 27-8.     The personal records just keep coming for our Thermopolis High School Track and Field Team, with the girls team seeing 14 at the 3A East Regional competition at Douglas last Friday and Saturday and the boys making seven.     Wyatt McDermott won the seventh grade boys 1600 meter run during the Best of the Best meet at Lander last Tuesday, finishing with a time of 5:07.06. He was nearly 10 seconds faster than second place finisher Evan Owen of Cody Middle School at 5:16.93. McDermott also placed first in the 800 meter run with a time of 2:12.25, and two other Bobcats joined him in the top 10 — Landen Sosa placed fourth with 2:20.81 and Matt Music placed seventh with 2:22.71.     The Thermopolis Bobcat Golf team hosted their home tournament last Friday with teams around the Big Horn Basin attending. In spite of chilly, rainy weather, Hudson Roling placed first among the high school boys with a 78 for the day. Middle school golfer Hardy Johnson had the overall low score for the course with a 70, taking first in the middle school division.     Those who want to keep up with or improve their wrestling techniques can sign up for the Bobcat Wrestling Camp this summer. Though the two-day camp is not until June 29 and 30, registration is already open and limited to the first 150. Travis McDermott stated the camp is “a technique camp that we have brought NCAA runner up and three time All American Bryce Meredith into teach.” There are four technique sessions for ages 10 and up — two on each day — and two daily sessions for ages 7-9.     Though Friday saw the final regular season meet for the Hot Springs County High School Track and Field team with the Bobcat Invite, it was the first meet in which Cullen Becher was able to compete, having been released to do so. Becher underwent some minor knee surgery earlier this year.     The Bobcat golf team traveled to Cody last Friday for the Cody Invitational. According to coach Jacob Smith, there were a few standouts at the tournament, including Hudson Roling, shooting a 69, his lowest high school tournament round.     This past week saw McKenna Bomengen winning a third place medal in the 3200 meters at the Wyoming Track Classic (WTC) in Casper. Coach Ernie Mecca explained simply qualifying for the WTC is a major accomplishment, as it means Bomengen is among the top 10 performers in all classes across the state.     Whitt Field will be home to the 2018 Pitch, Hit and Run competition on Friday, May 4.     Last week saw the Hot Springs County High School track team at two events, with the Riverton Twilight on April 19 and the Lovell Invite on April 21.     On Friday, April 27 Special Olympics Wyoming athletes from Cody, Ft. Washakie, Lander, Powell, Riverton, Thermopolis and Washakie County will compete at Area I Summer Games in Cody.
