    Beginning Oct. 17, the Hot Springs County Recreation District’s Adult Coed Volleyball League is officially into its playoff season. Games on Wednesday, Oct. 10 saw victories for TBD against Setting Ducks, 25-19, 25-13 and 2517. Benny and the Sets won their first game against How I Set your Mother 25-18, and though they lost the second match to How I Set 25-21, Benny game back to win the third game 25-20.     The Thermopolis football team came home with a win after shutting out Newcastle 66-0 Friday night. Coach Matt McPhie said overall the team played well and definitely were more physical on the field. Though there were some injuries on the Newcastle side, which no coach likes to see, McPhie said it was also good to see our boys flying around the field and getting those hits.     Last Friday, middle school cross country students travelled to Powell for their conference meet, their final competition for the season. Coach Stephanie Metz said it was a great meet with a nice, flat course and the students are familiar with it for the most part. “We had some good races,” Metz said, noting Dazlynn Hunt’s keeping up with a Lander competitor and splitting a 6:03 in the first mile.     Last Saturday saw the Thermopolis Middle School’s final game this year, with a 34-16 win against Greybull. Tahja Hunt won with a time of 21:41.00, followed by McKenna Bomengen at 22:01.00, a full 25 seconds ahead of third place.     The Thermopolis Bobcats fought hard against Wheatland at their Homecoming game, ending the night with a 28-14 loss.     This Saturday Thermopolis will be home to the Bobcat Cross Country Invite, beginning at 10 a.m. at the golf course. Coach Stepahnie Metz said this week the Bobcats have been focusing on the mental aspects of dealing with hills.
