    The Lady Bobcat basketball team had a very successful weekend in Burlington with both the JV and varsity teams coming away with wins. Coach Matt McPhie said the varsity girls played very tough defense, forcing 29 turnovers and playing at a high level defensively. The Lady Cats held Burlington to single digits in each of the four quarters with a final score of 45-24.     It was a close game for the Bobcats last Saturday, though Burlington came up with the 31-29 win when the final buzzer sounded. Coach Shane Corpening said this was a tough game for the boys, though they showed improvement on defense.     So far this season, the freshmen boys basketball team has a 1-3 record with a win against Burlington on Dec. 11.     Thermopolis wrestlers started their season at the Powell Invitational Friday and Saturday on a high note. The twenty-team tournament featured an all-class make-up, and was led by Casper Natrona.     The Thermopolis boys basketball season saw a busy opener this past weekend, with games against Wright, Lusk, Glenrock and Rocky Mountain, coming home with a 1-3 record from the Herder Classic at Glenrock.     In his first year as HSCHS head wrestling coach, Travis McDermott, brings impressive credentials to the task. The homegrown 1991 graduate of HSCHS was a Wyoming state champion in 1990 and followed that by becoming the only Bobcat ever to win the premier Wyoming wrestling tournament, the Ron Thon, in 1992.     Seniors Jon Harvey and Chandler Maddock, and sophomore Logan Cole have been selected by the Wyoming Coaches Association as All-State and All-Conference players for 2A football.
