This past week, Hot Springs County High School played host to teams from seventeen Wyoming schools, in the final week of the regular track season. The junior high state finals are set for this week in Gillette and the high school finals will be June 3-8 in Rock Springs. Bridger Peil had a great finish in tie down calf roping on Saturday with a time of 10.750 to earn second place out of 35 competitors. The Thermopolis Middle School Track Team wrapped of their regular season last Saturday at the Yellowstone Conference meet held in Thermopolis. The 6th grade girls team brought home 1st place with a total of 140 points beating 2nd place Cody with 136.50 points. Last Friday, the Thermopolis Middle School Track competed at the Lander Middle School Invitational with ten other teams from the area. The Hot Springs County High School golf team was scheduled to travel to Sheridan last week, to play on the Powder Horn Golf Course - one of the premier private golf courses in the state. Organizers are planning their first Thermopolis Frisbee Golf Tournament on Saturday, April 27 at the course, located along Highway 20 North at the edge of town across from the Armory. The Thermopolis Wrestling Club ended their season last weekend at the WAWA Kids/16U/Jr. State event held at the Ford Wyoming Center in Casper. The Hot Springs County High School Golf Team traveled to Sheridan Friday, April 12 to play in the Tongue River Spring Invitational. The event was held at the Kendrick Golf Course, which will host the State Tournament this fall. Kendrick is a par 72, 18-hole public course that is fairly unique in its layout, having few bunkers and not a lot of trees.
