The Hot Springs County High School Bobcats Cross Country team headed to Cheyenne last week, to compete in the Wyoming Invitational. Teams from all over State of Wyoming were joined by at least four teams from Colorado to face off in the event. The Hot Springs County High School Bobcat golf teams played host to Ten Sleep, Worland, and Lovell this past week, at their fall invite tournament. Both the Cats and the Lady Cats finished atop the leader board, in a finish that definitely sounded like a roar. Porshia Birdsley rests easy - at least for the moment - in her Gottsche Gym surroundings. Aside from the weights and machines, there is a space dedicated to Birdsley's many wins on the Strongman circuit, including her biggest and most recent win, the United States Strongman National Championship on June 28 in Concord, North Carolina. Hot Springs State Park has a frisbee/disc golf course just north of the Chamber of Commerce building that is open year-round for play. For those interested in playing for free, stop by the Chamber to pick up discs. The frisbee golf course is 9 holes. Every hole on the course is a par three. Last season, the Hot Springs County High School Bobcat track team made great strides in their quest for a State Championship. With each passing event, one could see, clearly, the progress being made by all of the student athletes. The Bobcat and Lady Cat track teams were in Shoshoni last weekend to compete in the Class 2A West Regional Tournament. Both teams performed exceptionally well, with the boys team finishing the event as regional champions. With eight teams competing in both the girls and the boys events, the Lady Cats scored 50 team points, good enough for a fourth place finish.
