The Bobcat varsity football team went on the road last Friday and defeated Mountain View by a final score of 40-13. It was the Bobcat’s first victory over Mountain view in 11 games. “The team played tough physical football, and pulled away in the second half- shutting out the Buffalo’s outscoring them 20-0 in the 2nd half,” said coach Matt McPhie. The 2A West 5 Rivers Cross Country Conference Championships has been rescheduled for Saturday, Oct. 23 at Wyoming Indian High School. "I was proud of my girls for staying consistent and competitive during the whole match. The Lady Cats volleyball team traveled to Douglas on Saturday and played Burns. The varsity team lost in three games and both JV and Freshman lost in two. “Varsity started out playing well and would get a lead and then let Burns go on a run so then we would be behind by a few points and then have to catch back up. The Bobcat football team traveled to Cokeville last week and came away with a 46-12 loss to the 5th ranked Panthers. “The team battled all day but in the end, the inability to take care of the football caught up with them. The Bobcat football team lost to Lovell Friday night for Homecoming with a final score of 51-15. The team battled tough early, but Lovell had too much power. Mistakes plagued the short lived success the Bobcat team had at times. Gavin Shumway threw two touchdown passes in the game. Roedy Farrell was on the receiving end of one of those touchdown passes. The Bobcats won the 2A state boys golf team title for the fourth straight year, the sixth time in the last eight seasons, during state golf on their home course. With Hot Springs County School District No. 1 classes resuming on Monday, so did practices and competitions for sports and activities. For the Bobcats, that equals a busy weekend schedule.
