    The Bobcats won the 2A state boys golf team title for the fourth straight year, the sixth time in the last eight seasons, during state golf on their home course. After they were tied with Kemmerer following the first day, Thermopolis won by 40 shots in the team standings finishing with an overall score of 690.     The Thermopolis Bobcats won over Kemmerer 41-14 at home last Friday. “The team came out and executed early in the game. I believe they were prepared,” said coach Matt McPhie. The Bobcats were coming off a two week break from school because of the high number of absences due to COVID . During that time, no organized practices were held. “We had some kids go out and make some plays on both sides of the ball.     The 3A varsity Lady Bobcats volleyball team fell to the Douglas in a close 3-2 battle last Thursday at home. Finals scores were 23-25, 22-25, 25-21, 25-14 and 15-9. “We came out strong vs Douglas, the best I have seen our girls play in awhile, but our fatigue got the best of us in the end,” said coach Shannon Hill.     With Hot Springs County School District No. 1 classes resuming on Monday, so did practices and competitions for sports and activities. For the Bobcats, that equals a busy weekend schedule. The golf team will be hosting State Golf on Friday and Saturday. The boys have a great team and should make a strong showing.     Bobcat golfers opened their season at the Park County Shootout Aug. 12-13. "We have had a great start to the 2021-2022 golf season. They had split the season series 2-2, with OEB winning their games 16-13 and 13-11, while Sparkplugs won their two with scores of 19-10 and 14-11.     Jase Longwell was named year end all around boy during the Wyoming High School Rodeo Finals held in Douglas last weekend. Jase Longwell scored 54 in the first go in saddle bronc riding and 41 in the short go for 95 in the average on two.     The 48th annual Wyoming Shrine Bowl All-Star football game was held in Casper last Saturday.     The Bobcat Booster club is preparing to return the annual 3 on 3 Basketball Tournament after missing last year due to COVID-19.
