Thermopolis Sorting Series kicked off its 2021-22 season on Saturday. The event was well-attended by contestants from the Big Horn Basinarea and as far away as Green River. The Sorting Series will be held the second Saturday of every month through April 2022 at the HotSprings County Fairgrounds. Spectators are welcome. There is no fee tocome watch. Against Lander the Bobcats won 15 out of 21 matches with Stone Pebbles defeating his opponent with a very quick pin in 25 seconds. The team stepped up and wrestled well taking advantage of the short one minute periods, gaining valuable points. The Lady Cats hosted the 3A East Regional Tournament last Friday and Saturday. The girls played hard but came up short, losing to No. 1 seed Burns and Torrington, putting an end to their season. The Bobcat football team had a solid performance on Friday evening when they took on the visiting Pinedale Wranglers. The Bobcats took a 28-0 lead into half time, and were able to play some young players late in the game and come away with a 42-20 win. The Bobcat Cross Country team competed in the 2A Wyoming State Championships in Ethete on Saturday, Oct. 23. Senior Hallie Martinez was the top finisher for the Lady Cats. She crossed the finished line with a time of 22:55.01, finishing 12th. The Bobcat varsity football team went on the road last Friday and defeated Mountain View by a final score of 40-13. It was the Bobcat’s first victory over Mountain view in 11 games. “The team played tough physical football, and pulled away in the second half- shutting out the Buffalo’s outscoring them 20-0 in the 2nd half,” said coach Matt McPhie.
