    The Bobcat Cross County team competed at the Chief Nation Invitational Cross Country meet in Ethete last Saturday. Three varsity girls ran from Thermopolis with top finisher for the Bobcats, Ruth Johnson, coming in 14th with a time of 21:15.30. Mercedes Martinez had a time of 23:52.40 and Jayda Griffin had a time of 24:49.00.     The Thermopolis Middle School Football team started their season off with a victory over Shoshoni on Sept. 3. Coach Shane Corpening said “I thought we played really well from the start. We scored on our first offensive possession. The team obviously has a lot of things we need to clean up. There were way too many penalties and first game mistakes.     The Bobcat varsity football team traveled to Kemmerer last Friday to take on the Rangers. Quarterback, senior Gavin Shumway, completed 12 of 17 passes for 191 yards and 2 touchdowns in the game. Del Dukes hauled in 7 passes for 126 yards and 2 touchdowns. Defensively, Chris Arends had 24 tackles in the game with Jessen Basse adding 10 tackles.     The Lady Bobcat Volleyball team was busy on the road traveling to different tournaments last weekend. JV and Varsity traveled to Rawlins and the Freshmen traveled to Buffalo. Coach Shannon Hill said “These Lady Cats have had a great start to the 2022 season.
