The Hot Springs County High School Lady Cats varsity volleyball team was on the road in Sheridan last week to compete at the Big Horn Tournament. Thirteen 2A schools were in attendance at the event - which covered two days, and pitted the Lady Cats against some of the top teams in the division. The Hot Springs County High School cross country team competed at the Bryant/Johnson Memorial Cross Country Meet in Riverton on September 12. While the course and weather conditions were favorable, the team did not fare as well as they had hoped. Junior Jadeth Elder led the team with a ninth place finish, running a time of 18:30.33. Facing a very competitive team in the Class 3A Tigers, and in a back-and-forth contest, the Lady Cats came away with a three to two win – 25-22, 16-25, 19-25, 25-23 and 15-11. The Hot Springs County High School golf team played host at the Bobcat Invite last week, with two rounds of golf at the Thermopolis Golf Course. Mother Nature contrived to provide two great days of weather for the event on September 5 and 6. The Lady Cats finished in second place, with a team score of 615. The Hot Springs County High School Golf Team played in the Terry Berg Invitational at the Lander Golf Course last week. The Bobcats and Lady Cats were pitted against teams from nine area schools, including: Cody, Evanston, Jackson, Lander, Lovell, Powell, Riverton and Worland. The Bobcat cross country team began preparations for a new season this week, with two-a-day practices commencing on Monday. Head Coach, Stephanie Metz, and Assistant Coach, Kaitlyn Dudrick, have the runners working hard to prepare for the upcoming season.
