Thermopolis Wrestling Club hosted Wrestleopolis on Saturday and walked away with 14 two style champions and several other one style champions. As a team, Thermopolis came out first in both folkstyle and freestyle competition from a large field of teams. Fifth graders - The fifth grade boys traveling basketball team won the Silver Bracket at the 33rd Annual Casper Youth Basketball Tournament last weekend. They went 3-0 on Saturday and started Sunday with a tough 36-32 loss to the Saratoga Panthers. Hot Springs County High School freshman Lady Cat basketball player Jayssie Owsley as received accolades for the 2022-23 season by being named to the Girls 3A West All Conference post-season awards list. Bobcat Cord Simeral, a senior, was named to the Boys 3A West All Conference post-season awards list. Honors were chosen in a vote by the head coaches. Three Lady Cats competed in the first ever Girls Wrestling State Championships in Casper last week. They started the week off on Thursday with a great event that showcased ladies wrestling only. “The support and growth of girls wrestling was very evident with some great matches. The tremendous growth of the sport was noted as Wyoming had the highest per capita growth in the nation this year. The Bobcat wrestlers finished strong at the 2A West Regional Tournament placing 3rd behind Kemmerer and Big Piney. The cats qualified 12 of 14 wrestlers for the state tournament this week in Casper. “We had seven wrestlers place in the top four and will be seeded at state.
