The Hot Springs County 4-H Shooting Team hit the mark at the State Shoot earlier this month with multiple individual wins scoring in the top ten for archery, shotgun, pistol, and rifle classes. It’s time for the younger generation to show their stuff at the Wyoming Junior Rodeo Association (WJRA) rodeo July 25 and 26 at the Hot Springs County Fairgrounds. The WJRA is expecting 40 to 50 cowboys and cowgirls. Performances start at 10 a.m. on Saturday, 9 a.m. on Sunday, and Cowboy Church will be offered at 8 a.m. on Sunday. The 2015 Thermopolis Cowboy Rendezvous PRCA Rodeo had a great turnout last weekend, bringing visitors and cowboys from not only the U.S. but several distant countries as well. Big Horn Basin Football Camp Summer football is coming to Thermopolis in late June when the Big Horn Basin Football Camp takes LeRoy Hayes Field. Children from Kindergarten to 12th grade are invited to attend. The program gives children the hands-on practice and one-on-one attention children need to grow their skills. The Thermopolis boys and girls track teams ended their season strong at the State Meet last week. The boys team had five all-state members and a second place finish while the girls had one all-state member and a fifth place final. The boys also set eight personal records and broke one school record over the weekend with the girls breaking five personal records. There is just one weekend left in what has been a remarkable season for the Bobcat boys and girls track teams. Last weekend, the team traveled to Lander for the Regional Championships, with the boys team placing second and the girls taking third. Thirty-one personal records were achieved.
