Bobcat Jules Ward brought home her second consecutive individual title from the 2A State Cross Country meet in Sheridan on Saturday. The girls brought home second place as a team. Ward finished the course with a time of 19:12. Ward won her title last year with a 19:15. The Hot Springs County High School Bobcats defeated Newcastle 28-0 on Friday, and in doing so won a spot in the 2A State Football Playoffs. Brad Morrison is the new director for the Hot Springs County Recreation District. Originally from Lamar, Colo., Morrison moved to Thermopolis five years ago with his wife, Staci. Once here, Brad found himself coaching high school football and track. He also coached basketball for the middle school. Morrison is excited for his new position with the recreation district. The Bobcats, coming off a tough homecoming loss against Big Horn, were neck and neck with Lovell until the half, with both teams managing 18 points each.
