    The 2017 Thermopolis Gymkhana Series hosted its third event for the season on June 30. The fun event at the end this time was a crate paper race, during which riders along with their chosen partners had to ride up the arena, round a barrel and ride back while holding, and hopefully not breaking, the paper between them.     Those looking to get some time at the net can attend the Hot Springs County Recreation District Junior Bobcat Volleyball Camp, July 8 at Hot Springs County High School. The camp is for students in grades 1-8, with first through third graders from 9 a.m. until noon and fourth through eighth graders from 1-4 p.m.. There are two tee times for golfers on Saturday, 8 a.m. and 1 p.m. All golfers are welcome to play in this event and encouraged to do so.     Its time to have a little fun in the dark for a good cause – the Glow Golf Tournament at the Thermopolis Golf Course to benefit the Hot Springs County High School golf team.     The summer circuit of the Wyoming Junior Rodeo Association (WJRA) will be hitting Thermopolis on Saturday and Sunday, July 22 and 23. Held at the Hot Springs County Fairgrounds, competition will begin at 10 a.m. on Saturday morning and 9 a.m. on Sunday. There will also be a roping held on Saturday night.     Those looking to have some fun and don’t mind getting wet can sign up for the MoveOpolis slip-n-slide kickball tournament, beginning Wednesday, July 12 at 6 p.m., in Hot Springs State Park near the Pioneer Home.     It’s the Battle of the Bighorns Kick ‘Em Up Cans barrel racing competition, coming to Thermopolis Friday, July 14 through Sunday, July 16. The Battle of the Bighorns began in Wright in June, followed by a second competition in Buffalo, with Thermopolis being the culminating event.     The weekend featured loads of excitement at the Hot Springs County Fairgrounds when the Thermopolis Cowboy Rendezvous PRCA Rodeo hit town.
