Youth football registration runs through Aug. 16 and can be done by picking up a registration form at the rec office or online. This past Saturday, Thermopolis Bobcat Lizzy Lofink had the opportunity to play in the All-Star basketball game in Thunderbird Gym at Casper College. Lofink was chosen for the honor during state when all the coaches from across the state convened to pick this year's North and South teams. Her coach, Cory Sova, was also chosen to coach the North team, his fourth time on the sidelines. Youngsters from all over the state came to Thermopolis this past weekend to compete in the Wyoming Junior Rodeo Association's rodeo at the Hot Springs County Fairgrounds. Friday night, the Bobcat Hall of Fame grew by four individuals, as well as the 2002 girls basketball team, at the 2017 induction ceremony in the high school commons. The individuals inducted include Kelsey Redland Tobin, a 2009 graduate. Tobin was a multi-sport letter winner for the Bobcats. The Smokin’ Waters Golf Tournament was held July 14-15, along with a Night Golf Tournament hosted by the high school golf program. Nine teams followed the glow sticks along the course at the night tourney and tried their hand at hitting glow in the dark golf balls that would eventually find their way into a 6” hole that was silhouetted by glow sticks in the holes. It’s the Battle of the Bighorns Kick ‘Em Up Cans barrel racing competition, coming to Thermopolis Friday, July 14 through Sunday, July 16. The Battle of the Bighorns began in Wright in June, followed by a second competition in Buffalo, with Thermopolis being the culminating event.
