Saturday Thermopolis competed against wrestlers from seven other schools at their home meet, and came away with 110 points. In A Division 98, Roedy Farrell placed fourth and scored nine team points. Last weekend, the Thermopolis High School JV and freshman basketball teams traveled to take on Worland Thursday and hosted Buffalo at home Friday. The JV fell to Worland 66-38, and to Buffalo 59-26. Likewise, the freshmen lost both their games, 56-29 to Worland and 59-37 to Buffalo. The Bobcat girls basketball team dropped a pair last weekend, one on the road against Lander and the second at home against Lovell. This weekend was a struggle for Thermopolis High School Boys Basketball, as they came away with losses to Lander, 68-41, and Lovell, 69-43. Coach Kevin Gerber said Lander came out as a real “run-and-gun, shoot ‘em up type team. The Thermopolis High School hosted one-half of the Big Horn Basin girls basketball tournament over the weekend, with the Lady Cats posting a 2-1 record. Thursday night the girls took a loss against Greybull, 49-34, which dropped them into the losers bracket for the remainder of the tournament. "This was an ugly game for us," coach Cory Sova said. Hot Springs County’s Rec District is gearing up for girls youth basketball and adult co-ed basketball for the month of January. Registration is open until noon on Jan. 2, both online and at the district office in the armory, for girls kindergarten through sixth grade.
