Twenty four Thermopolis wrestling club members travel to Billings last weekend to participate in the Montana Open, on of the largest and toughest wrestling competitions in the region. This massive three day wrestling event saw 2,108 wrestlers representing 196 teams from 9 states with Thermopolis finishing in 15th place with a total 216 points, making them the highest scoring team from Wyoming. Thermopolis Wrestling Club competed at the R Town Rumble last Saturday in Riverton, bringing home 14 individual championship trophies in Folkstyle and finishing in 3rd place as a team with 292 points. Four club members also brought home championships in Greco, with the team placing 3rd with 91 points. The Thermopolis Wrestling Club (TWC) hosted Wrestle-opolis last Saturday in the Hot Springs County High School gym. The tournament brought 562 kids from clubs throughout Wyoming to compete here. This past weekend, the Thermopolis 7th grade Middle School Basketball team won the Yellowstone Conference Championship, which was held in Powell, Wyo. The team entered the tournament with a 12-1 record during the regular season. The only loss came in an overtime defeat to Lander.
