    Porshia Birdsley recently placed 16th out of 23 in the world at the 2024 Official Strongman Games World Finals held in Madison, Wisconsin at the Veterans Memorial Coliseum on December 6-8.     The Hot Springs County High School Lady Cats basketball team opened their new season against Class 3A Lander last Friday. In a game where neither team looked to be in regular season form, the Lady Cats were never in contention on the scoreboard and were defeated by a score of 54 to 27.     Thermopolis resident Porshia Birdsley has qualified to compete at the Official Strongman Games held at the Alliant Energy Center Coliseum in Madison, Wisconsin. The event runs from December 5-8, with Birdsley scheduled to compete in the womens 161 lb. class. Our local VFW will be airing the competition at Post 2281 on Friday and Saturday.     Thermopolis Middle School wrestling team members saw back to back action last weekend with the Herder Middle School Duals in Glenrock on Friday and the Worland Invitational on Saturday.
