    Donations for deployed military members accepted There are four members of our community deployed with the Wyoming National Guard 2-300 to areas in the Middle East. This unit deploys approximately every four years. Those serving from Thermopolis and Hot Springs County are SPC Clint Strawser, SPC Dylan Todd, SPC Talen Steinmetz and SGT Brad Becerra.   • Structure fire results in minimal damage to shop

    At approximately 4 p.m. Tuesday September 17, the Thermopolis Fire Department was dispatched to Buffalo Creek Road for a reported structure fire. Firefighters arrived to find a two-vehicle garage/shop with active fire in the roof rafters. Firefighters attacked and quickly extinguished the fire. No injuries were reported as a result of this fire. Firefighters responded to the scene with 4 units: two engines, one water tender, and a rescue truck. Vicklund Pharmacy was established in 1987 by Carol Vickund Bivens and current owner Tony Deromedi purchased the pharmacy in 2014 after he worked for Bivens from 2004 until 2014.     Shawn Mohr is the new Public Health Director in Hot Springs County starting August 5. The previous director Tricia McPhie resigned earlier this summer. Mohr said he is "getting settled and figuring out where things are at and getting my schedule going."
