  • Phipps Memorial Concert set

    The annual Rick Phipps Memorial Concert will be held Saturday, Sept. 5 at the Pavilion in Hot Springs State Park beginning at 7 p.m. Featured musicians include Set Free Church Band, Kerry Wallace, Cal Winland, Chris Amend and the Silvertip String Band with Keith O’Brien on piano. The concert is free to the public. Donations will be collected for the benefit of Mike Cavin who is recovering from a brain stem stroke. Phipps passed away in 2015 and his friends began holding a memorial concert each year in his honor....

Five six-man teams participated in several ag related events which included hay bale rolling, wheel barrow race, sheep herding on bicycles and the tire roll relay.     The 2020 Junior Livestock Auction and Blue Ribbon Bake Sale at the Hot Springs County Fairgrounds on Friday night was a huge success, with total sales amounting to $180,195.25, up from $123,146 last year. Along with sheep, swine and beef, there were baked goods that went on the auction block, too. Twenty-two head of beef came through the ring this year, three more than went up for auction last year.
