    The Elf Tree Program is designed to help families in need with a little extra in the way of Christmas gifts to make a special holiday for their children. Parents or guardians may sign up their children, ages birth -17, Nov. 2-Dec. 11 at the Department of Family Services, 403 Big Horn. The Elf Tree will be placed at Thermopolis Hardware and Mercantile Nov. 16-Dec. 17 with the Elf tag ornaments.     The Wyoming Pioneer home took multiple trips to Hessenthaler Farm's pumpkin patch. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, they were only able to take four residents at time but all that wanted to had a chance to participate. Pat Vosler, left, really enjoyed the swing.     The 2020 State Marching Festival was held digitally this year instead of 22 bands descending on the Casper Events Center. Each band was required to record a video of their performance and submit it to a group of six judges. The Bobcat Marching Band performed their show, The Music of Remember the Titans, on Thursday evening in 30 degree weather.     On November 17, 1920, 12 Thermopolis women gathered to form Chapter K P.E.O. Today, almost 100 years later we gather to recognize the many accomplishments of Chapter. Over these 100 years, 195 women have participated. Currently there are 19 members in Chapter K. During the early years the members raised funds from a variety of efforts. Donations ranged from food baskets to the needy, eye glasses for a needy child, one month’s utility bills for a nursery, decorating a hospital room and many more.
