    Monday, March 29, is the 50th anniversary of the end of the Vietnam War. In 2017 President Trump made March 29 the National Vietnam War Veteran's Day. Veteran Tobi Johansen of the local VFW Hall Post 2281 held a volunteer help day for our local veterans to commemorate the day. Johansen said, "It's based on one of the final battles in that war.     A new Sketch Club has been started here in Thermopolis that allows artists to meet fellow creative people. It was formed by Joe Moon and Josh Rathbun, who happened to discover their shared artistic interests by chance during jury duty.     Three-year-old Cora Jo Schwalbe gets a little instruction from auctioneer John Holm as she prepares to display an item up for bid at the Cookie Jar Auction for Alice Oneyear at the VFW Saturday. An astounding $42,000 was raised at the auction with additional donations still coming in. All proceeds go to Oneyear for medical expenses incurred as she battles stage 4 lung cancer.     Red Dirt Master Gardeners will be holding their Plant Swap at the Hot Springs County Library, Saturday, March 20 from 10 a.m. until 12 p.m. Participants are asked to bring their extra indoor plans, plant divisions, seeds or just come empty-handed. You can leave with new plant varieties in exchange. Also, the Community Garden Sign Up is beginning March 20, 10 a.m. until 12 p.m. also at the county library.
