During the week of September 8, members of the Thermopolis Volunteer Fire Department were in action each day, Monday through Friday. They responded to multiple calls for service including one reported motor vehicle crash, a request for assistance from the police department and numerous grass fires which burned over 1,800 acres. With support from local, state and federal agencies these wildfires are now all 100% contained and present no further threat, according to fire department officials....
Myra Bennett, from Powell, was one of dozens of artists who participated in the Plein Air in Parks events held last week in Hot Springs State Park. Bennett selected the TeePee Fountain, built in 1909, for her artwork. The fountain was built to vent steam from the hot mineral water.
