    The Thermopolis Cowboy Rendezvous PRCA Rodeo was held at the fairgrounds last weekend. It was full of rodeo action including saddle bronc riding, above. Young people in the audience got to participate as well with some fun racing without shoes on in the arena to win money. Rodeo clown Scot Allerdings entertained the crowd with hilarious commentary and antics while he conversed with announcer Doug Mathis....

The goal of the course, which had 42 participants throughout the day, was to teach compressions only CPR and to make attendees comfortable with identifying if someone needs CPR....

    Red Dirt Master Gardeners awarded Geneva Baird as the Garden of the Month. Baird is 89 years old and has worked at the County Historical Museum for the past 10 years. Baird said, "I just love flowers. They are more beautiful if you take care of them. I love the museum." Museum director Rachel Moon said, "We couldn't replace her. She's amazing. She never stops." The flowers were originally donated as part of the Peggy Shaffer memorial ten years ago when the garden started....

  • Kick-off to summer party

    Audra’s Copper Coo is holding its Kick-off to Summer Party on June 25 from 10 a.m. until 7 p.m. at 225 Clark Street. There will be grilled hamburgers, hot dogs, corn on the cob, along with vendors, and a Real Coo Petting Zoo for all the summer fun. Also, there will giveaways and door prizes with live music. Audra’s Copper Coo sells organic coffee and looseleaf teas among other gluten or sugar-free foods to eat. They invite you to join the fun and enjoy the drinks and good eats....

    Thermopolis hosted the Wyoming Junior Rodeo Association rodeo last weekend. Results for Hot Springs County youth include: Senior Boys Ellis Webber rode for 61 points in Steer Riding on Sunday and finished second in the finals for the average for the weekend. He was first in Calf Tying Saturday with a time of 6.13 and fourth on Sunday with 9.49 which earned him first in the weekend average. Bridger Peil was first in Calf Tying on Sunday with a time of 7.66. He was third in Team Roping Sunday...

    Hot Springs County High School alum Tawnya Rush recently watched the new Top Gun: Maverick movie starring Tom Cruise at the Mikey’s Theater and found the experience to be thrilling. Rush saw the original Top Gun film in the same location, originally called The Ritz, in 1986 as a junior high school student.
