    Pull out your dancing shoes and get ready to dance the night away at the 2017 Annual Fireman’s Ball, Saturday, Feb. 18. The Ball will be held at the VFW from 9 p.m. til 2 a.m. with music from the Sundowners, featuring a wide variety of traditional country music.     Tickets are sold out for Brenna’s Banquet set for Saturday, Feb. 11 at the Risen Son Baptist Church gymnasium. The event is in recognition of Brenna Rankin, who passed away at two years old after a battle with cancer. Proceeds will go to the Brenna Rankin Memorial Scholarship. As one of Brenna’s favorite things was going to school to pick up her brother, the scholarship will pay for a full year’s tuition for a current student at the Risen Son Christian School....

    Nearly every little girl dreams of growing up to be a princess or a movie star or a cheerleader. This Saturday, your little girl will have the chance to make one of those dreams come true at the Bobcat Cheer Camp, starting at 9 a.m. at Ralph Witters Elementary. The camp will run until 10:30 a.m. with instruction from the Bobcat cheer squad. Cost is $15 per child and each camper will receive a purple and gold tutu and a set of pom poms.     The Bobcat Speech and Debate team traveled to Casper last weekend to participate in the Mustang Classic at Natrona County High School. Similar to the Kelly Walsh tournament two weeks ago, the Mustang Classic is a large meet, bordering on the size of the state tournament, giving the speechsters a glimpse of what it will be like competition-wise at the end of the season in March.   • Bobcat robotics teams compete in Montana

    The Bobcat Robotics recently competed at the Montana State FTC Competition. Two teams competed — Aluminati, coached by London Jenks, and Fist Full of Axles, coached by Curtis Hamer. There were 36 total teams competing, and computer science teacher Steve Radabaugh stated Aluminati ended up seated 15th and Fist Full of Axles was seated 19th. Radabaugh is happy with how well both teams performed, as the competition in Montana is very stiff. He explained teams are randomly placed into qualifying matches, with each team in five matches.     The Annual Kiwanis Community Health Fair is coming up soon so now is the time to “Cowboy up and get screened in 2017.” Western Health Screening from Billings will be doing the blood draws, March 2-4 from 7 a.m. til 10 a.m. in the lobby at Hot Springs County Memorial Hospital.
