The Friends of the Library are gearing up for their annual Fall Book and Bake Sale, set for Friday, Oct. 13 and 14. On Friday evening, there will be a plethora of books available for purchase at the armory along with baked goodies from 5-7 p.m. Things will continue on Saturday morning, starting at 8 a.m. and run until noon. October 1-7 is National 4-H Week, celebrating and showcasing the incredible experiences that 4-H offers young people. In Hot Springs County there are 128 children, from the 5-7-year old Cloverbuds to the 8-18-year old regular 4-H members. Of course, 4-H wouldn’t be possible without the help of a bevy of volunteers. The Thermopolis-Hot Springs Chamber of Commerce is excited to be hosting the Antique Stroll Show with John Sollo on Saturday, October 14 from 10 a.m. til 2 p.m. at the Hot Springs County Museum and Cultural Center. John Sollo is an appraiser for the Antiques Road Show seen on PBS. Sollo’s area of expertise is furniture from the 1870’s to present, although his real love is “modern furniture”. On Friday and Satruday, Thermopolis will again be home to veterans from across the state and country for the 2017 Hunting with Heroes event. The Wyoming Department of Transportation’s motorcycle safety Basic Rider Course is this weekend at the WYDOT building, and seats are still open. The course is designed for those without any experience, but motorcycle riders of any skill are welcome. The cost for residents is $50. Homecoming week begins on Monday, and it looks as though its going to be a fun-filled time for everyone.
