    The Bighorn Bowhunters will host their New Year’s Shoot at the Hot Springs County Fairgrounds on Sunday, Jan. 7 at the Hot Springs County Fairgrounds. The event will feature at 450 Vegas shoot and a 28 target 3D shoot. Josh Lynch said they will be using both the main fair building and the multipurpose building with its indoor arena for the shoots.     Seven students from Thermopolis Middle School will be competing in the Challenge of the Books on Jan. 10 at the armory. Challenge of the Books is a contest for middle school students who love to read and they are expecting to host about seven other schools for the competition. A list of 12 books, which come from the Soaring Eagle and Indian Paintbrush nominee lists, are given to the children to read each August.     The Thermopolis Hot Springs Chamber of Commerce drew the winners for this year’s Shop Local contest last week, just in time for Christmas.     The Thermopolis Wrestling Club is gearing up for their 2018 wrestling season under head coach, Will Farrell. There are currently about 20 kids signed up for the year, however, there has been interest from a number of others, so that number still has a chance to grow. Children who will be aged four during 2018 are eligible to sign up, through age 18.
