The Hot Springs County Recreation District will host its Turkey Hoop Shoot on Thursday Nov. 15. Registration is at 6:30 p.m. at the Armory, with the event starting at 7 p.m. Second grade up to age 15 can participate, and parental participation is required. The Thermopolis Gun Club will host a turkey shoot at the Bob Milek Memorial Range on Sunday, Nov. 11 from 1-3 p.m. Categories for the shoot include Centerfire Pistol or Rifle and Rimfire Pistol or Rifle, and one turkey will be awarded for the shooter with the best score in each category. The day will begin with the placing of Hawk’s Avenue of Flags at Monument Hill Cemetery, beginning at 7 a.m. The Avenue of Flags was turned over to the Big Horn Basin Riders this year and the group would appreciate any volunteers who would like to help place the flags in the morning and then take them back down before sunset.
