St. Francis Catholic Church will have a Childrens Pageant on Christmas Eve at 5:30 p.m. followed by mass at 6 p.m. On Christmas day they will celebrate mass at 9 a.m. Holy Trinity Episcopal Church will be celebrating with a Christmas Eve service starting at 10 p.m. Risen Son Southern Baptist Chuch will have their regular Sunday service on Sunday, the 23rd, but will not have their evening service that day.     People for People will be hosting a free Christmas dinner at Holy Trinity Episcopal Church on Christmas day, from noon until 2 p.m. The traditional meal, just like their Thanksgiving feast, is open to everyone to come, sit, have some dinner and conversation for a couple of hours Christmas day.   • First Day Hike planned at HSSP

    Hot Springs State Park will be hosting a “First Day Hike” on Tuesday, January 1 from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. The hike will begin at the Kiwanis shelter in the park at 11 a.m. and one group will take the river walk, which is approximately a half mile long, while a second, more adventurous group will take the “Spirit Trail” which is a mile long.     Beginning in January, the Hot Springs County Senior Center will provide craft and hobby classes on the first and third Thursdays of the month, from January to Memorial Day and from Labor Day to late December.     Hot Springs County High School’s speech team hosted the Bobcat Invitational Speech and Debate tournament last Saturday with nearly 200 students from across the state attending.     Time to start filling those rosters and practicing your layups for the Hot Springs County Rec District’s Ault Basketball League. District Director Anja Abbott said signups will begin after Christmas, with team sheets due Jan. 18.
