    The Riverton Workforce Center, a local office of the Wyoming Department of Workforce Services, has scheduled a Thermopolis services day on Tuesday, Jan. 15 at Hot Springs County Library.   • Hunter education classes begin Jan. 21

    Jim Lash will be provide a hunter education class beginning Monday, Jan. 21 at the CRC room in the high school auditorium. Classes will be Monday, Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 6-8 p.m., covering seven main topics including ethics, rules, regulations and firearm safety. The final class is Thursday, Jan. 31. Lash noted the classes meet the Wyoming Game and Fish requirements for anybody born after Jan. 1, 1966 who wants to hunt in the state.   • Golden Age Club meeting

    The golden Age Club will have its annual meeting on Thursday, Jan. 10. The club, a non-profit charitable agency, was founded to aid the continued growth and operations of the Hot Springs County Senior Citizens Center. Efforts to meet the needs of county seniors are supported by fundraisers and donations such as weekly Bingo games and memorial donations.     Hot Springs State Park will be hosting a “First Day Hike” on Tuesday, January 1 from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. The hike will begin at the Kiwanis shelter in the park at 11 a.m. and one group will take the river walk, which is approximately a half mile long, while a second, more adventurous group will take the “Spirit Trail” which is a mile long.
