    The Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation (RMEF) is planning their annual banquet to be held on April 6 at the fairgrounds. Jill Tonn, one of the RMEF organizers sai the doors will open at 5 p.m. with games and raffles as well as a silent auction.     Registration is open for the Hot Springs County Recreation District’s Ready, Set, Run! program. Instructed by Shannon Hill, the program is a character-building running program that trains kids ages 8-13 to participate in a 5K run. There were plenty of themed days happening at Ralph Witters Elementary to celebrate Dr. Seuss, and at Lights On elementary students were writing stories.     The Bobcat Speech and Debate team was quite successful at their State Tournament in Riverton last weekend, bringing home second place in 1A-2A as well as having a number of students named to the All State team. After three days of competition, Tyler Kay and Kyle Mosser made it to the final round of dramatic interpretation with Kay taking 8th place and Mosser coming in 6th.     Earlier this school year, students at Thermopolis Middle School tested their knowledge of geography with eighth grader Jonah Needham emerging the victor. Because of that first place, he was able to take an online quiz. Though given an hour to take the quiz, Needham said he finished it in 20 minutes and believes he got around 65 of them right.
