    Its time to to start thinking about kicking off summer with the Hot City 3-on-3 Summer Slam sponsored by the Bobcat Booster Club. The tournament will be held on Memorial Day weekend, May 26 and 27 in the high school parking lot. Registration is now open for the tournament with various age groups for teams aged 10 and under all the way up to age 31 and over. Registration is $155 per team. Registration is online only.   • Kindergarten registration April 30

    Ralph Witters Elementary will host a kindergarten registration event on Tuesday, April 30, from 5:30-7 p.m. at the school cafeteria. To be eligible for kindergarten, students must be five years old by Sept. 15, 2019. Those registering students should bring a state certified birth certificate and immunization records. If a birth certificate is not available on April 30, it must be brought to the school office before the first day of the 2019-20 school year.     We’re starting to see more rain falling from the clouds than snow, and those interested in becoming trained weather spotters and assisting the National Weather Service with storm conditions can attend a weather spotter training on Thursday, April 25. The training is sponsored by Hot Springs County Emergency Management, and begins at 6 p.m. in the Hot Springs County Annex at 117 North Fourth Street.     The spring sale is on for the Friends of the Library book sale, scheduled for Friday, April 26 and Saturday, April 27. The sale starts at 5 p.m. on Friday evening until 7 p.m. and then Saturday at 8 a.m. until noon at the armory. The Friends of the Library have lots of inventory, but they’re always happy to take more. Book donations may be dropped off at the armory up to a week before the sale.
