Vera Hausauer, 86, passed away surrounded by her family on December 17, 2024, at Central Wyoming Hospice in Casper, Wyo. She was born to Emil Rehberg and Ida (Miller) Rehberg in Halliday, N. D. Vera attended school in Werner, graduating from high school in a class of four. She attended one year of college at Dickinson State Teachers College and then went on to teach in a one-room school house. After opening their season with a win against the 3A Lander Tigers on Friday, December 13, the Hot Springs County High School Bobcats headed down to the south-west corner of the state last weekend, to compete in the Flaming Gorge Classic, at Rock Springs and Green River. Coming off a spectacular showing at the Powell Invite the preceding week, the Hot Springs County High School Bobcats were in Worland last weekend, to compete at the Battle in the Big Horns Tournament. This is one of the largest events of the season, and draws a crowd of some nineteen schools to compete for the Best of the Best in each weight class. The Lady Cats Wrestlers were in Worland last weekend to compete at the Battle in the Big Horns Tournament. Between matching up against some very talented competitors, and being short staffed due to illness/injury, the Lady Cats faced some real adversity in the two-day event. The Hot Springs County High School Lady Cats basketball team took a long bus ride to the southwest corner of the state last week-end to play in the Flaming Gorge Classic. The Classic is a large tournament, drawing fourteen teams, from Class 2A, Class 3A and Class 4A schools, with games scheduled in both Green River and Rock Springs.
