Community members gathered at Thermopolis Middle School Monday to hear about the progress of the Hot Spring State Park Master Plan. Wyoming State Parks officials still say the plan is in the developmental phases, with three different routes the master plan can be built towards. Two people hunting bear near Grass Creek and Carmichael Draw found an overturned four-wheeler with a body stuck between it and the ground. Lan Price, 53, was killed by the injuries he sustained following an ATV accident. Although the time of death is uncertain, Price died some time between the last time he was seen on May 6 and when he was found May 10. The American College of Health Care Administrators (ACHCA) recently honored Tobi Homi, administrator at Thermopolis Rehabilitation and Care Center (TRCC) as a 2015 recipient of the ACHCA Eli Pick Facility Leadership award. Council for Educational Travel, USA (CETUSA) is seeking host families in Thermopolis to open doors to their homes, their communities, and their hearts for international high school exchange students. Hot Springs County High School has indicated their willingness to accept the exchange students being placed in volunteer host families for a semester or an academic year. Thanks to everyone who supported trying to change the city ordinance to let chickens in the city limits. I got about 100 signatures in less than a week, but for the town council that wasn’t enough. They commented that all they got was people calling them and saying “no” to the chickens. The high school band and choir returned from their Music in the Park competition in Denver this week with a second place finish for the band and a fourth place finish for the choir. But music director Dustin Olsen said the groups were much closer to winning then they appeared. In each category teams are scored points from two judges.
