Hot Springs County Public Health is now offering flu shots as we begin the 2020 flu season. You do have to call for an appointment, but you will have the option of having your vaccine administered from the safety of your vehicle this year. You may still go into the office if you prefer, but be aware a mask is required. The flu shots will be available daily from 3 to 4:40 p.m. Public health will bill most insurance including Medicare and Medicaid. If you are self-pay the vaccine will be $35. Mardyss Aldean "Marti" Groh, 82, passed away Sunday, October 18, 2020, at the Wyoming Pioneer Home where she had resided the past four years. Born November 27, 1937, in Swea City, Iowa, she was the daughter of Henry and Amelia (Berhow) Johnson. On August 14, 1961, Marti married Richard 'Dick' H. Groh in Mason City, Iowa. Janet Adele Heinze Parrent, 82, passed away Monday, October 12, 2020 at Hot Springs County Memorial Hospital following a period of declining health. Born July 11, 1938, in Lusk, Wyo., she was the daughter of Edward and Adele (St. Clair) Urwin. William Francis “Bill” Castle, Jr, 80, passed away July 28, 2020, at Hot Springs County Memorial Hospital. Born August 14, 1939, in Santa Monica, Calif., he was the son of William and Margaret (Underwood) Castle. Following high school, he served in the US Navy. Bill was employed by the City of Longmont until he retired. In 1967 he married Diane Sue Snyder in Boulder, Colo. To this union was born three children. The Lady Bobcat cross country team pulled together at their conference meet in Lovell this weekend to come home as conference champions. Head coach Stephanie Metz said it was a little windy, but otherwise the running conditions were perfect. The Varsity Lady Cats traveled to Newcastle last Friday to take on the Lady Dogies, losing in four games, 25-22, 20-25, 24-26 and 14-25. The 2020 State Marching Festival was held digitally this year instead of 22 bands descending on the Casper Events Center. Each band was required to record a video of their performance and submit it to a group of six judges.
