The Hot Springs County School District’s Board of Trustees met on Tuesday night and heard a report from the Ralph Witters Elementary (RWE) fourth grade team. The H.O.P.E. Agency in Thermopolis has a new addition to their crew, Bobbi Jennings. Jennings, who is originally from Alaska, moved here six years ago with her husband and two daughters. Lifetime resident, Charlotte Gourley, 87, passed away Friday, October 12, 2018, at the Thermopolis Rehabilitation and Care Center. Born June 4, 1931, in Thermopolis, Wyo., she was the daughter of Paul and Margarett (Shafer) Einer. On May 14, 1949, she married Jack Gourley in Thermopolis. Three children were born to this union. Janice E Giffin passed away on February 15, 2018, peacefully at her home. She started life as the 1947 New Year's baby in Columbus, Ohio, the second daughter of Kathleen B Ham Drake and Willard E. Drake. She grew up on Fairfield Beach, Ohio. In 1965, Jan graduated from Walnut Township High School where she met and married Danny J. Giffin on January 7, 1966. She had two children Melissa E. Daniel John Dombeck of Thermopolis, Wyo., passed away on October 9, 2018, surrounded by family after a brief illness. Dan was born on January 13, 1931, at the family farm near Bevent, Wis. Dan was the third child of Leonard and Estelle Dombeck. After graduating from Mosinee High School in 1950, Dan enlisted in the US Air Force. Dan served as an aircraft electronics technician during the Korean War and was honorably discharged in 1954 as an Airman First Class. Longtime resident, Alice Marie Stump, 87, passed away Sunday, October 13, 2018, at the Thermopolis Rehabilitation and Care Center. Born July 25, 1931, in Rulo, Neb., she was the daughter of John and Zelma (Spicer) Williams. She was the co-owner and business manager of R&S Well Service. Last Saturday saw a brief discussion in Thermopolis regarding rural health care. Hot Springs County Memorial Hospital CEO Margie Molitor said a large part of the discussion was in regard to the Wyoming Pioneer Home, as it is again on the “chopping block” and being considered for privatization.
