    At the Hot Springs County Annex Building on October 5, the County Commissioners met to hear a variety of reports. Bill Gordon gave the Emergency Management report and presented the 2021 EMPG Grant Award Agreement. This grant covers 50% of Gordon’s salary and a few additional things. In 2004, the state possessed the nation’s fifth highest suicide rate, with about 17 deaths for every 100,000 residents.     John Arthur McIntosh passed away Monday, September 27, 2021, in Thermopolis, Wyo., a few days before his 81st birthday. Born October 2, 1940, in Cheyenne, Wyo., he was the son of Jack and Margaret (Bacon) McIntosh. After graduating from Cheyenne High School he joined the Marine Corps in June, 1959 serving until July, 1961, then the Air Force being honorably discharged in 1964.     Robert Calvin "Bob" Poch, 95, died Monday, September 6, 2021, at Hot Springs Health hospital in Thermopolis. He was a resident at the Wyoming Pioneer Home prior to his hospitalization. The fourth of seven sons of Paul and Phyllis (Hacker) Poch, Bob was born at Pine Bluffs, Wyo., on November 24, 1925. The family lived on a farm at Grover, Colo., from 1929 until 1934, when the drought of the Dust Bowl days and the economics of the Great Depression forced the family to move to Cheyenne.     Deputy rescues juvenile from canal POWELL (WNE) — An off-duty Park County Sheriff’s deputy jumped into action to rescue a juvenile from an irrigation canal on Sunday.
