On Saturday, the Thermopolis Middle School Bobcats took a 44-28 win against Greybull, capping off a perfect 7-0 season. Regarding Saturday's game, coach Shane Corpening said it was a pretty "back and forth" game, the biggest thing was for the players to pick themselves up as a team and ride through the low points while riding the momentum changes. "It seemed like Greybull had all the momentum," Corpening said. "Our defense came up with a huge stop and our offense was able to answer." Corpening... Full story

  • Pumpkin patches popping up

    Mark Dykes, Editor|Oct 12, 2017

As October moves on, it's hard not to think of Halloween and the decorations that come with it, many of which are pumpkin-based. Gene Peterson got a surprise when he planted pumpkins this year, putting down 12-20 plants and seeds in some manure he got from the Hot Springs County Fairgrounds. Though he spread them out in a small area, they took off to Peterson's amazement. He chose to put up a sign to let people know they could come and pick the pumpkins. He didn't charge anything, but donations...

    Cindy Glasson, Reporter Photographer|Oct 12, 2017

National Teen Driver Safety Week begins on Sunday, the perfect time to chat with your teen about things like distracted driving, seat belts, speeding and impaired driving. One of the most common and dangerous distractions for teens behind the wheel are cell phones. Of course, we bought them the phones for emergencies and to keep in touch with us, but they’ve been proven a deadly distraction for all drivers, especially teens. Just the act of dialing a cell phone increases the crash risk by three...

Commonly known as “electrofishing,” Regional Fisheries Supervisor Sam Hochhalter explained the process utilizes electrodes, or “droppers,” placed in the water. The boats form the negative side of a mild electric field while the droppers form the positive end. Fish that hit the field have involuntary muscular contrac...
