The Thermopolis Bobcats and Lovell Bulldogs joined forces last week to host the Cats and Dogs invitational golf tourney on Thursday and Friday. The first day the teams played on the course in Lovell, finishing things up on Friday in Thermopolis, giving the Cats a bit of a home field advantage. The Lovell course is a shorter course and features a lot of hazards, which gave the Cats some trouble with hitting the ball both straight and accurate. Coach Brandon Deromedi said the team rebounded very...
The Lady Cats volleyball team headed to Cody last week to compete in the Border Wars between Wyoming and Montana teams. Head coach Shannon Hill said the girls unfortunately went 0-4 for the weekend, but she saw a lot of positive things out of the team despite their record. “Our girls served really well and were able to knock teams out of system by how tough they were serving,” she said. “When this team has their momentum and in their rhythm, they are so talented and tough to beat. “As you can...
It was a hard opening for the Thermopolis Bobcats as they fell 40-27 against Big Horn Friday night. But the boys kept pushing through the game and never gave up, earning them some points in the second half. Coach Matt McPhie said, "We fell to a really good Big Horn team 40-27. We had some costly turnovers and failed to sustain some drives early in the game. Big Horn attacked us with some big plays through the air and we had some breakdowns. Our boys battled until the end and made some nice plays...

Coach Shane Corpening said last Saturday’s game was a tough one for Thermopolis Middle School football team, as they lost 34-14 to Greybull. Corpening said the offensive line was able to move the ball well, but when they got into the “red zone” they struggled to score. Defensively, he said, “we definitely struggled to tackle, so we’ll be working on that a lot this week. We’re trying to hit them way too high and not in the legs.” He noted Greybull’s quarterback is fairly athletic and when he was...
