The Hot Springs County Fair Board and Recreation Board are moving forward to install a digital sign at the fairgrounds in the same location as their previous sign. At the August 23 Hot Springs County Land Use Planning Commission, in old business, the board members voted to untable the Maddock Minor Subdivision and Land Use Change application. Applicants Duane and Cindy Maddock previously presented to the commission on July 19. Non-Profit Organization Gottsche Rehabilitation and Wellness Center will hold a Boots & Bling Fundraiser on Saturday, September 16 beginning at 6 p.m. at the Hot Springs County Fair Building, 627 Springview. James “Jim” Richard Farmer, 91, passed away on August 25, 2023, at Hot Springs Health in Thermopolis, Wyo. He was born on December 22, 1931, to Oscar and Dorthea (Rinbey) Farmer in Powell, Wyo. Cremation has taken place and services will be held Saturday, September 16, 2023, at the First Baptist Church in Thermopolis. The time has yet to be determined. On September 6, the Commission will tour Medicine Lodge State Archaeological Site near Hyattville, as well as Hot Springs State Park. Thermopolis Bobcat golfers hosted their home invite last Monday with Lovell, Powell, Ten Sleep and Worland making the trip to compete on the hot August day. The Lovell boys and girls came out on top with teams scores of 343 and 293.
