Ray Arey, explained he was flying a 1946 Ercoupe for a friend, taking the plane from the old air port to the new, when the engine quit on him. He was the only occupant of the plane. Monday afternoon in District Court, Kristy Samples entered a “no contest” plea to a charge of taking records without permission and was sentenced to five years supervised probation. Cody Joseph TenBoer, 44, of Thermopolis, passed away on August 12, 2017, at Wyoming Medical Center in Casper after a lengthy battle with multiple physical ailments. Karen Aileen Devish, 66, passed away peacefully in her sleep Tuesday, August 8, 2017, at her home in Worland, Wyo. Karen was born in Chappell, Neb., on April 18, 1951, to Everett "Mick" and Irene (Hughes) McVay and spent her childhood in Thermopolis. Lady Bobcat volleyball got underway with their first practice on Monday under new head coach Shannon Hill. Hill said there are 25 girls out for volleyball this year with 10 of them being freshman and seven seniors to lead the way. Hot Springs County High School’s golf team began their practices last week, gearing up for their fall season. Two members of the team went to Powell for their Invitational on Thursday and Friday of last week – returning State Champion Hudson Roling and Cade McLean. Roling scored a 73 the first day of play followed by a 76 the second day. This put him in second place for the tournament.
