It’s the Battle of the Bighorns Kick ‘Em Up Cans barrel racing competition, coming to Thermopolis Friday, July 14 through Sunday, July 16. The Battle of the Bighorns began in Wright in June, followed by a second competition in Buffalo, with Thermopolis being the culminating event. The Thermopolis Wrestling Club will be putting on a freestyle and Greco-Roman technique camp on Saturday, July 15 at the Hot Springs County Armory Building. From 8 a.m. until noon, the focus will be on freestyle, with all ages welcome — from Pee Wee, ages 5-6, to School Boy, ages 13-14. From 1-4 p.m. will be the Greco/Roman portion for Bantams, ages 7-8, and older. On June 17 and 18, Boysen Reservoir was home to the 2017 Wyoming Walleye Stampede, bringing competitors in nearly 70 two-person teams from around Wyoming and other states to cast their lines and snag the biggest fish they can, and win some cash while they're at it.
