    The Thermopolis Hot Spot Car Rally was June 19 and 20 with 124 entries being shown off by vehicle enthusiasts from around the area. The car show was well attended by both locals and tourists.     At the Thermopolis Town Council meeting on June 14 a public hearing was held for the 2021-22 budget and there were no comments received. The budget was voted on and approved in its third reading. There were a couple minor changes including sewer depreciation fund expenses that were just under $10,000 and they added $5,000 to give to the Hot City Outdoor Alliance for their fundraising of a trail development on Roundtop.     The crash south of Thermopolis on Friday, June 18, that led to the road closure of US20/WY789 between Shoshoni and Thermopolis in Wind River Canyon, reportedly resulted in a fatality and an injured person. According to the Wyoming Highway Patrol crash report, a pickup was southbound on US 20, when the driver attempted to pass another southbound vehicle. The driver of the pickup attempted to avoid a collision with a passenger car headed northbound, but was unable to and the two vehicles were in an offset head-on collision. The report states...

    At the June 16 Hot Springs County Travel and Tourism board meeting, new Treasurer Audra Dominguez gave the financial report. For the month of May they received $15,097.58 in lodging tax income and $4.41 in interest income. This amount was a record high for a monthly lodging tax income.
