    The Big Horn Basin Riders are planning their annual Freedom Run for July 1 and 2 in Hot Springs County. On Friday, July 1 a Meet and Greet will be held at 6 p.m. at One Eyed Buffalo. At the Meet and Greet, individuals can register for the 265-mile Poker Run as well as buy tickets for the Bag Lady Sue show to be held on Saturday evening. Tickets are $25.     Fifty-year-old Michelle Redland ran the Deadwood Mickelson Trail Marathon June 5 in Deadwood, S.D. Redland said this was her first marathon and it took her five hours and 58 minutes to run the 26.2 miles. "The first 14 miles was a steady climb," she said. "At about mile 16, I first saw my husband and I was overjoyed. During mile 18, I started crying because I was exhausted and I had another hill to conquer.   • Mosquito spraying planned

    The Hot Springs County Weed and Pest District will be spraying for mosquitoes between June 29 and July 6 in the county including the areas of Lucerne Valley and Owl Creek, weather permitting. The district loans out small foggers to property owners for use in a pickup or on a 4-wheeler. Larvicide is also available.     Amanda Dinsmore and Eryn Robinson returned last Saturday from a week-long trip to the National Speech and Debate Tournament in Salt Lake City, Utah. The pair competed in the duet category along with 240 other pairs of students from all across the U.S. and several foreign countries.
