Hot Springs State Park Superintendent Kevin Skates wants to remind tourists and local residents that dogs must have a leash while in the State Park. The Hot Springs County Sheriff’s Office has responded to a report of an animal abuse case on a property in Owl Creek. Following the investigation, three horses, one goat, two ducks, two pigeons, and one goose were seized. The Sheriff’s Office charged 79-year-old Carolyn Tribbett with eight counts of alleged cruelty to animals. Upon arrival at the property, deputies met with Tribbett and presented a search warrant. The Farmer’s Market in Thermopolis will begin this Saturday, June 11 and end on October 1 every Saturday. Judith (Judy) Robinson West, 78, of Humble, Texas, passed away on her birthday, April 19, 2022, in her home, with her daughters by her side. This scrappy lady had an amazingly strong will to live, and never have you met a more resilient person. Michael Ben "Mike" Deaver, 66, passed away suddenly Thursday, May 26, 2022, at his residence outside Thermopolis, Wyo. Born August 18, 1955, in Sheridan, Wyo., he was one of three children of Robert and Evelyn (Davis) Deaver. Working on the family ranch in Gillette he was the third generation who eventually owned and operated the ranch after the passing of his parents. On July 10, 1991, he married Pam Cruse in Reno, Nev. William Frederick "Bill" Petrausch, 89, passed away on Thursday, April 14, 2022, in a hospital in Memphis, Tenn., with kidney and related issues. Bill was born in Powell, Wyo., on June 24, 1932, to the late Dr. William Petrausch and Ruth (Rhodes) Petrausch. Donald Edward Carey, 86, passed away peacefully at his home in Thermopolis, Wyo., on May 31, 2022, surrounded by family. On November 23, 1935, Don was born to John Edward Carey and Frieda Caroline Schmitt in Thermopolis, Wyo. His father was the youngest Fire Boss in Gebo, Wyo., and his mother was a school teacher in Kirby, Wyo. Lifelong resident, Virgil R. Harris, 85, passed away May 31, 2022, at the Thermopolis Rehabilitation and Care Center where he received excellent care the past three years.
