    A preliminary hearing on April 25 in Hot Springs Circuit Court is scheduled for Hugo A. Luna, who faces felony charges of first-degree attempted murder and kidnapping.   • Remains of missing person found

    Authorities in Utah have identified the remains of a body found Sunday as that of 19-year-old Kyle R. Burton, who went missing last fall. Cache County Sheriff’s Lt. Brian Locke said Burton’s body was found by a hiker east of Sherwood Drive, in the foothills above Providence. The remains had been turned over to the State of Utah’s Medical Examiner’s Office for identification.     Two Thermopolis graduates have done well in their careers, moving up the ladder to foreman with the Wyoming Department of Transportation. Chad Shaffer, a HSCHS graduate from 1992, was recently named as the WYDOT maintainance foreman in Shoshoni. Shaffer began with WYDOT in 2016. Scott Thomas, a graduate from 1987, was named the WYDOT maintainance foreman in Basin in December.     Hot Springs County was extremely lucky the fire at the Hot Springs County Museum and Cultural Center a couple of weeks ago not only put itself out, but was contained to the kitchen area. As it is, the museum is expected to remain closed for approximately three more weeks as the clean up continues. Varney Clean Care has been at the museum every day since the fire, extracting the water from the carpeting, using ion blowers in an attempt to eliminate the smoke smell and painting and repairing.... Full story

    Hot Springs County Recreation office is offering a “Get Golf Ready” program to cover the basic fundamentals of the game, introduce students to golf etiquette and help students learn how to navigate the facility.
