Marjorie "Marge" Ann Yager, 90, passed away at Thermopolis Rehabilitation and Wellness on April 8, 2025. Marge was born on December 27, 1934, in Golden, Colo., to Kusti Franti and Olga Gustafson. During her childhood years, she overcame much adversity due to family tragedy. She graduated from Golden, Colorado High School in 1952 where she was a cheerleader and avid sports enthusiast. The Thermopolis FFA Chapter was represented by 41 students who traveled to Cheyenne last week to attend the Wyoming State FFA Convention. A successful convention was wrapped up with cheers, shouts and a few happy tears as Thermopolis Chapter President Tymber Eckley was announced as the 2025-26 Wyoming State FFA President. Fifteen members from the Big Springs FFA chapter went to State FFA Convention last week in Cheyenne. Thermopolis Wrestling Club ended their regular season last weekend at the Kids/16U State Championship held in Casper. Five wrestlers,Gabriel Ryan, Hayden Robinson, Hailey Robinson, Briar Lahoe and Jesalyn Blair, placed first in all three styles, earning them Triple Crown titles. When it comes to statistics, the sport of track and field is not unlike the sport of baseball - in both cases, it’s all about the numbers. Although they were to have kicked off the spring campaign in Worland on April 4, that tournament was canceled by uncooperative weather. Last Saturday, the Thermoplis Middle School track team competed in the Shoshoni Junior High Invite. The junior high division made up of 7th and 8th graders while 6th graders competed in the youth divisions. The junior high girls team placed 11th out of 16 teams with 20 points and the junior high boys placed 5th out of 17 teams with 43 points. The youth boys team was 13th out of 18 teams with 15 points and the girls youth team scored 16 points to put them in 11th place among 18 teams.
